Bellies

Bellies Meaning:
Pork belly is the meat from the belly of a pig that bacon is made from. Trimmed and frozen pork bellies, and future contracts for the same, are traded on exchanges such as the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in units of 20 tons.

As for other goods, futures contracts are a useful way for producers of goods to lock in future prices that are otherwise volatile and unpredictable.
